Day 01: Arrival

Up on your arrival meet with our representative and transfer to your hotel for the overnight

Day 02: Drive to Jimma via Welkite & Weliso, about 350kms.

Jimma is the largest settlement in western Ethiopia & it served as the administrate capital of Kaffa. As Jimma was the centre of the 16th century kingdom of Kafa Kingdom, it has many things to see around. Some of the interesting ones are the palace of the 16th century King Abba Jiffar and the Jimma Museum. The impressive palace built by Abba Jiffar during the early years of his rule still stands on a low hill at the former royal compound of Jiren, 8km from the city centre by road. The Jimma Museum, where a selection of the personal effect of Abba Jiffar, the last independent king of Jimma, are housed alongside some worthwhile ethnographic displays relating to the Oromo and other local cultures.

Day 03: Drive to the highland town of Mizan Tefari, about 220kms

This is a drive through the Kaffa region of Ethiopia; it is the area of one of Ethiopian’s main coffee growing center; is generally regarded to be the region from where the Arabica strain of coffee originated, and it is also where this plant was first cultivated. A popular legend, said variously to date to between the 3rd and 10th centuries, claims that a young herdsman first observed the stimulating properties of wild coffee.
Most of the drive is through the coffee plantation. You can spend the night in Bebeka Coffee plantation Guest House located in the middle of coffee forest; is of great interest to bird watchers and it offers clean accommodation in a small guest house.

Day 04: Drive to Kibish.

Drive to Kibish. Set to the Simi desert southern lowlands roughly 180km south of Mizian Tefari, the unassuming village of Kibish. It is the conventional springboard for excursion to the western half of south Omo.

On this day you have a chance to looking the differentia social activities of Surma tribes like tattooing, sucking blood from animals, body painting. Spend the night there. The various Surma sup groups all participate in a rigid but egalitarian political system based around age sets
